The Traditional Voices Group produces and stages a musical tribute to Lesley Riddle the third Saturday of each February. This event is held in the Burnsville Town Center and presents some of the local talent of Yancey and Mitchell counties, including a number of Lesley’s relatives as well as relatives of the Carter Family.

Mike Seeger was our featured artist at both of the 2008 and 2009 RiddleFests. Bill Clifton, Dale and Theresa Jett, the Griffith Chapel Choir, Debbie Phillips, Ronnie Robinson, Terry McKinney, Ron and Minnie Powell, Rhonda Gouge, Bruce Greene, Rob Levin and Hannah have also performed.

Sadly, Mike Seeger passed away in August 2009. The 2010 RiddleFest will be dedicated to the memory of Mike, who did so much, first, in saving Lesley from total obscurity and then donating his time and talents to the 2008 and 2009 RiddleFests.

Musicians who have committed to this year's RiddleFest are: Dale and Theresa Jett and Jim Arrendell. Dale is the grandson of A.P. and Sara Carter. Jim played the role of Lesley Riddle in the critically acclaimed 2009 Parkway Playhouse production of "Esley." Additional acts are being added, so check the main TVG page for up-to-date details.
